The cost of the jewelry offered for sale at auction is usually significantly lower than the retail price of similar jewelry. Before the Auction

Printed Illustrated Auction Catalog
Our illustrated catalogs are available to clients who wish to have a printed version for their perusal prior to buying. Each catalog is mailed to you approximately two to three weeks before the auction. Descriptions and estimates of each lot offered for sale are included, along with pictures to assist you in making your purchases. To receive a copy of our current catalog or an annual subscription, please complete a Catalog Order form.

On line Auction Catalog
Clients may view our convenient online illustrated auction catalogs, on our website, 3-4 weeks in advance of each auction. The online auction catalog contains the same detailed descriptions and estimates as in the printed catalog, along with additional illustrations not offered in the printed version. Joseph DuMouchelle offers this online auction catalog free of charge to all clients.

Exhibition/Preview Prior to Each Auction
We also hold public exhibitions, or previews, prior to each auction, where you can personally inspect, examine and try on all of the jewelry. Our experts are available during the exhibition to help you and to answer any questions. For your convenience, private viewings are also available upon request. Exhibitions and Previews are held in the Midwest, at our fine jewelry salon, and in New York City, for our International and U.S. buyers, prior to each auction. We often hold additional previews in Palm Beach, FL and Rancho Santa Fe, CA. Please see the Auction Schedule for all dates and locations.

Condition Reports
Condition Reports are available to clients requesting additional information not found in the printed and online auction catalogs. This information is available to assist you in making confident and wise purchases. We want you to feel happy and comfortable when buying from Joseph DuMouchelle International Jewelry Auctioneers.

Bidding

There are three methods of bidding at auction.
   1. Attend the auction and bid in person
   2. Telephone bidding download a convenient bid form
   3. Absentee bidding download a convenient bid form

Whether bidding and buying in person, on the phone or online, a live auction is exciting. Items are featured in photos during the bidding process. For those who are new to the auction process, we want to reassure you that bidding is fun and easy. You can have fun buying jewelry, while saving money.

For your bidding and buying convenience we offer both absentee and telephone bidding.

Absentee bids are flat bids, submitted in writing, up to one day before the auction begins. You place your maximum bid on the bid form and one of our specialists will bid on your behalf during the auction. They will only use your bid amount as a maximum and make every effort to buy the item, on your behalf, at the lowest possible bid.

Telephone bidding is your chance to bid live, during the auction, without having to attend. We have up to 25 phone lines available for telephone bidding. You bid during the auction with one of our telephone bid specialists who will assist you in placing your bid in a safe, easy and convenient way. To make telephone bidding easy, we call you. Whether at your home, office or via you cell phone, we’ll get you on the phone before your desired items are offered for sale.

After Auction

Once you’ve made your purchases, you may pick up your items during the auction session. If you are out of state, out of the country, or cannot attend the auction, you may call one of our auction specialists to make arrangements to pick up your items or have them shipped to your home or office. Your items will be packed and shipped, with insurance, at a nominal fee.
